A large-scale ceramic sculpture constructed as a miniature model of a fantasy world inspired by the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). Forests, castles, and tiny figures crowd together in a dense environment filled with hundreds of characters and dozens of grotesque scenes, shaped by a violent, masculine, and perverse imaginary. The work holds together the fragile and unstable nature of Noy and Tamir’s ceramic sculptural language, reflecting their ongoing research into the relationship between clay, ceramics, and the representation of the queer body.
The work originated from a personal memory of Tamir at the age of 14, who was spared from the 2009 shooting at the Bar-Noar LGBTQ youth center because he chose to stay home and play D&D that evening instead of going there, as he often did. From this private experience, the miniature world expands into a reflection on a fractured contemporary reality, and on the possibility of processing trauma through imagination, play, and storytelling.

Mixed media: carpentry, glazed ceramics, and ready-made table legs, 95×300×165 cm
